The Fountain Inn is a traditional bar that is located on Cowes Street. They are located next to Cowes Marina. The terminal for the Red Jet service to Southampton is just 20 metres away from the place. This bar/restaurant overlooks the River Medina and you get stunning views of the harbour if you choose to dine at the recently refurbished heated patio. The place opens at 7 a.m. to serve you breakfast.

Breakfast is a must during your Isle of Wight holidays as it will give you the energy for your daily sightseeing activities. At The Fountain Inn, you get a complete buffet with choices like cereals, fresh fruit, yoghurt and pastries. You can also enjoy a full English breakfast or order some of the fresh buttered kippers. This bar is also popular for their famous house specialty “kilo of mussels” for just £9.95. The menu changes every day since it is highly dependent on the local produce available daily from the local suppliers. Have some drinks from the wide array of drinks to choose from including cask conditioned ales as well as other favourite wines. The bar opens from 12 p.m. to 9 p.m. daily.

The Bargeman’s Rest

One other interesting bar that you can visit during your Isle of Wight holidays is The Bargemen’s Rest. You can find The Bargeman’s Rest on Little London Quay in Newport. This is the highest navigable point on the River Medina. This place was named Little London because it reminded the skippers of the bustling Port of London. The Bargeman’s Rest has delicious traditional food with fish and seafood as its specialties.
